The origin of the indigenous natives of North America is somewhat obscure even though there are a host of theories which provide varied explanations.
The continent was not present on world maps till the discovery of the New World by Christopher Columbus in 1492. The continent is named after Amerigo Vespucci who explored its eastern coastline which caused a revision of world maps.
North America is considered to be a subcontinent as it forms one half of the Americas on the map along with South America.
It is connected with South America at the Isthmus of Panama. According to the map, the North American Continent comprises of countries like the United States, Canada, Greenland, Bermuda, and St. Pierre and Miquelon.
The biggest travel and tourism attraction in all of North America is the Grand Canyon carved by the Colorado River in the state of Arizona which is distinct in all maps of the subcontinent.
A visit to Las Vegas which is known as the gambling capital of the world is also a breathtaking visual treat due to its dazzling array of lights and luxurious hotels.
