It’s named after the 5 rivers that flow through it and draining into present day Pakistan. Punjabis are very proud people and among the richest in the country. This land is more than 4000 years old. It has been a seat of great civilizations such as Mohenjo Daro and later the Gupta and the Mauryan empires. It came under Mongol empire in the 15th century. Later it was ruled by various princely states. In the 18th century it came under the rule of British. In 1947, with Independence, the state was divided into two and one part went to India, while the other went to Pakistan.
It’s the land where Sikhism was first propagated. The Golden Temple is one of the awe inspiring and the holiest shrines for Sikhs and people come from all over the world to visit the shrine. For travel destinations within Punjab, there are many forts and museums too as. You can find many well known temples too. There are many cities such as Ludhiana and Chandigarh. Chandigarh is an extremely planned city. There are many natural sanctuaries where you can spot migratory birds coming from Central Asia and Russia. The tourism industry in Punjab is very vibrant.

Punjab is one of the best state as far as the food and enjoy is concern. although there are not so many things to visit but on our trip to punjab we find everything very well and people are really kind hearted. Milk and curd food is one of the favorite daily food. |
