The capital of the region is a place called Perugia and is an area of 8,456 square kilometers. But it has about one million inhabitants in it and is well populated. The map of Umbria will show that Tuscany is to the west, while Lazio is situated to Umbria’s south and Marche is located in the Eastern direction from Umbria geographically. The terrain is mostly mountainous and hill and is rugged. There are many ranges that stretch across the land and attract visitors from all over the world and help improve Umbria’s tourism.
The highest peak in the region is the Monte Vettore which lies on the boarder of Marche and stands at 8123 feet. The timber valley has the lowest peak that has been measured at 315 feet. The mountainous terrain is a welcome as far as the Umbria travel agencies are considered.
