When the cartographer, Amerigo Vespucci along with Alonso de Ojeda stepped down on the land of Venezuela, the crew observed still villages established by Añu natives which reminded Vespucci of the beautiful Venice which was in Italy called Venezia. So he named the land as "Venezuola”, which literary means small Venice.
